Brake Fluid Pump: Service and Repair

1. Discharge hydraulic accumulator by depressing brake pedal until pedal becomes difficult to operate (approximately 20 times).
2. Place a shop rag or towel around reservoir to absorb any spilled fluid, then remove low pressure hose to pump securing clip.
3. Disconnect hose, then remove and discard O-ring. Place end of hose in a suitable container and drain fluid.
4. Disconnect pressure warning switch and motor multi plugs.
5. Disconnect high pressure hose.
6. Remove motor/pump special mounting bolts, then remove the motor/pump unit.
7. Reverse procedure to install, torque high pressure line unions and pump/motor mounting bolts to 5-8.5 ft. lbs.
