Kit Installation Procedure:

^ Open the trunk and remove the spare cover and wheel, battery cover, trunk floor carpet and the right hand side trunk side liner. Pull back the right hand side of the fuel tank carpet.

^ Clamp the hoses to the fuel tank/sump tank hoses in the positions indicated in Fig. 1 A.
^ Start and run the vehicle for three minutes to lower the fuel level in the sump tank.

^ Disconnect the battery and remove the fuel pump cover, (Fig. 2 A).

^ Place an absorbent cloth under the sump tank and disconnect the hose from the sump tank suction pipe assembly (Fig. 1 B).

^ Remove the suction pipe assembly and sealing ring, (Fig. 1 C) from the sump tank using a brass drift.
CAUTION: Due to the presence of fuel vapor, do not use a steel drift for this operation. Avoid exposing the area to sparks or open flames.


^ Remove the fuel filter from the suction pipe assembly.

^ Install the fuel filter to the new suction pipe assembly.

^ Install the new suction pipe assembly. Using a brass punch, install the sealing ring to the sump tank, (Fig. 3 A).
^ Connect the fuel pump to sump tank hose (Fig. 3 B) to the new suction pipe assembly, (Fig. 3 A).

^ Attach the new vapor hose to the remaining outlet on the suction pipe assembly using the supplied hose clip, (Fig. 3 C).
^ Loosen the hose clip and remove the left-band side vapor hose from the top of the fuel tank, (Fig. 4 A).

^ Measure 125 mm (5") from the end of the hose and cut through.

^ Connect the cut ends of the hose together using the hose clips (Fig. 3 F) and the supplied T-piece (Fig. 3 D).
^ Install the vapor hose to the fuel tank and install hose clip.

^ Route the new vapor hose (Fig. 3 E) around the battery tray and up to the T-piece. Connect the remaining outlet to the T-piece using the remaining hose clip, (Fig. 3 F).

^ Install the fuel tank carpet and the trunk side liner, ensuring that the new vapor hose is not visible.

^ Remove the fuel tank to sump tank hose clamping tools.

^ Replace the fuel pump cover.

^ Connect the battery and start the engine. Ensure no leaks exist.

^ Stop the engine and install the trunk floor carpet, spare wheel and cover.

^ Close the trunk.
