Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Description and Operation

The hydra-matic transmission is fully automatic and consists of a three element type torque converter and a compound epicyclic planetary gear set.
Three multiple disc clutches, two roller clutches and two brake bands provide friction elements required to obtain necessary gear ratios.
