Receiver/Dryer To Expansion ValveRemoval
1. Depressurize the air conditioning system.
2. Loosen the union nut and disconnect the hose from the dryer bottle (1). Tighten to 15-17 Nm (11-12.5 ft lb).
3. Remove and discard the "0" ring seal.
4. Fit protective caps to the hose and to the dryer bottle.
5. Remove the screw securing the pipe clip to the inner wing valance and remove the clip. Tighten to 7-10 Nm (5.1-7.3 ft lb).
6. Loosen the upper union nut from the expansion valve and disconnect the pipe (2). Tighten to 20-27 Nm (14.7-19.9 ft lb).
7. Remove and discard the "0" ring seal.
8. Fit a protective cap to the expansion valve and remove pipe.
Installation
NOTE:
- Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
- Ensure that new "0" rings are fitted and the protective caps are not removed until the last possible moment
before connecting the new hose.
- Ensure the union nuts are tightened to the correct
torque.
- Flush the system, fit new receiver/dryer, evacuate and recharge the system.
