ISSUE:

Standard operation of the tape head cleaning cassette (supplied with the vehicle) is not possible due to the anti-tape jamming/automatic ejection feature.

ACTION:

Clean the tape head at every service interval using the following procedure:

1. Prepare the head cleaning cassette with two drops of cleaning fluid on each felt pad.

2. Turn on the ignition and then the radio.

3. Insert the cleaning cassette and immediately depress the volume knob (scan feature).

4. Wait 30 seconds to clean track 1.

5. Depress the program button twice and then depress the volume knob.

6. Wait 30 seconds to clean track 2.

7. Eject the cleaning cassette.

NOTE:
Also the tape head should be cleaned after every 15 hours of playing time.
