Fuel Pump: Testing and Inspection
CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in FUEL SYSTEMS / SERVICE PRECAUTIONS, when working on open fuel systems.Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fuelling component.
Fuel Pump Module:
1. Fit fuel pressure gauge. Testing and Inspection
2. Start engine and note fuel pressure. Should be approximately 36 psi idling. If pressure is low, test fuel pressure regulator.
3. If fuel pressure regulator tests good, check all external fuel lines.
4. If all external fuel lines are good, inspect fuel hoses inside fuel tank. It will be necessary to remove fuel tank to inspect internal fuel hoses. 5. If internal hoses are good, replace fuel pump and recheck.
