87jaguar01PASSIVE BELT DISCONNECTION
WORKSHOP ADMINISTRATION NO. 5
Model: All Date: September, 1987
KEY POINTS:
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has determined that it is illegal for a dealer to sell, offer for sale, or introduce into Interstate Commerce, a vehicle with a passive belt disconnected.
It is your responsibility as a dealer not to compromise the integrity of the passive restraint system of any vehicle your dealership comes in contact with.
If, while servicing a vehicle, one of your staff comes upon a disconnected passive belt, the matter should be brought to the attention of the vehicle owner or operator. The belt should be reconnected and the system checked to ensure proper operation.
Our vehicles meet all necessary safety and emission specifications as mandated by law.
Unauthorized change to vehicle specification or the rendering inoperative of any item of equipment or system is illegal.
