Replacement Procedure:
FIG. 9:
^ Position the plate part of JD 119 in a vice, (fig. 9).
Note: This procedure uses the opposite end of the plate to that in the removal procedure.
FIG. 10:
^ Place the drive dog on the pump's shaft (dogs facing upwards). Assemble tool 18G 1445 as indicated in figure 10 (the hexagon should be above the center section). Screw the bolt into the pump's shaft until fully engaged and finger tight.
FIG. 11:
^ Support the tool/pump assembly in the "fork" of tool JD 119, (fig. 11).
FIG. 12:
^ Use a 22 mm wrench to prevent the bolt from turning, (fig. 12). Use a 28 mm wrench to turn the center section of tool 18G 1445 in a clockwise direction to press the drive dog on to the shaft.
FIG. 13:
^ Continue pressing the drive dog (fig. 13 A) on to the shaft until the shaft (fig. 13 B) is approx. 1/8 in. (3.175 mm) clear of it. Use a depth gauge to check the dimension and adjust if necessary.
CAUTION: Refer only to the previously described removal and replacement procedures to prevent power steering pump damage.
