180 vehicles in the VIN range 665838 to 667716 have been equipped with a four bolt axle assembly. These axles can be identified by the number of bolts on the output drive shaft housing, (Fig. 1).

^ Standard axle has five bolts

^ Alternative axle has four bolts

ACTION:

If it becomes necessary to replace a four bolt axle, it must be replaced with a standard (five bolt) axle. DO NOT attempt to repair a four bolt axle.

When installing a standard axle assembly, it is necessary to install a new speed sensor bracket.
