Windshield Wiper - Judder/Noise - New Wiper Arm Introduced

ISSUE:

Wiper blade judder and noise on the "up" stroke is caused by the wiper blade not flipping over upon upward travel.

ACTION:

Beginning with VIN 680200, a new wiper arm (LMB 7005AB) was introduced. The new arm incorporates a 3-5~ twist to flip the blade over to trail on the upward stroke.

If customers complain of wiper judder/noise, perform the following operation:

^ Install wiper arm LMB 7005AB. Torque nut to 18 N-m (13 ft.lbs.) and install the original wiper blade.

^ Clean the windshield using Jaguar Windshield Cleaning Paste (DBC 5676).

^ Ensure that the correct quantity of P21S windshield fluid additive is being used. Refer to Technical Bulletin 84-5.

^ Clean the wiping edge of the wiper blade using a damp cloth.

^ Check that the wiper blade does not foul the windshield surround when set to the maximum speed with the engine running and the windshield wet.
