Supplementary Air Valve:

PURPOSE
Supplementary air valve provides additional bypass air to compensate for engine load associated with A/C operation.

OPERATION
During A/C compressor operation, supplementary air valve is activated by compressor relay, permitting increased idle air flow to the right intake manifold. When either "N" or "P" shift positions are selected, idle relay switches supplementary air valve "OFF," preventing excessively high idle speed.

LOCATION
Valve is located beneath right intake manifold plenum. Idle relay is located on radiator support near A/C compressor clutch.
