Distributor: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

Engine Speed Sensor:

2. Lift car and remove flywheel sensor heatshield.
3. Remove bolts securing flywheel sensor and move sensor from its position.
4. Rotate flywheel to TDC position on crankshaft pulley. This will align ignition rotor arm arrow with notch in distributor body and line on valley cover.
5. Refit flywheel sensor and its heatshield.
6. Lower car.

Marelli Distributor:

7. Remove three screw securing distributor cap and remove cap.
8. Remove vent hoses from distributor.
9. Remove bolts securing distributor to valley cover.
10. Remove distributor.
11. Reverse steps to refit.

Distributor Alignment:

NOTE: When refitting distributor, be sure arrow on ignition rotor arm is aligned with notch in distributor body and with line on valley cover.
