JDS - ISO Connector L190 - Wire Link Lead

ISSUE:

JDS does not recognize the wire link lead and red 4 way Sumitomo connector added to ISO connector LI90 PM-4.


ACTION:

Locate connector LI90 (brown) at the end of the wire link lead in order to attach pod 7 for on board diagnostics (OBD) testing.

Procedure:

While performing diagnostic checks on 1992 MY XJS vehicles, JDS may ask the operator to:

^ "Locate connector LI90 (brown) 6 way PM-4 on vehicle, XJS. Below aircon lower outlet."

Following the "Enter" command, the screen will display:

^ "Connect pod 7 to LI90 using vehicle cable".

The illustration on the screen will display LI90 as being located in the lower right side aircon outlet area. The JDS operator may find a red 4 way Sumitomo Standard connector in this area which terminates at LI90. This is an additional connector which is used during final vehicle assembly. There is currently no JDS diagnostic connector available to use this Sumitomo for diagnosis. The JDS operator must locate the brown PM-4 at the end of this link lead (LI90) in order to attach Pod 7 and continue with diagnosis.
