Output Shaft End Float

Remove the road wheel. Fit and align the magnetic dial test indicator to the lower plate, repositioning the indicator to the output shaft flange (Fig.2). Using a suitable lever, check and note the output shaft end float.

The correct end float should be 0.001-0.006 in. (this end float is pre-set, built into the bearing). If the end float is outside the given tolerances, the output shaft bearing must be renewed. Service and Repair

Refit the road wheel.

Ensure fixings / fastenings are torque tightened to the specified tolerances.
