Remove

Remove
- Release the bonnet and the boot.
- Open the bonnet and fit a wing protection cover to the left hand wing.
- Open the boot and depressurize the fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
- Disconnect the battery.

Induction Elbow:

- Remove the bolt which secures the induction elbow to the left hand innerwing (1).
- Loosen the clip (2) which retains the air intake rubber hose to the throttle body.
- Carefully ease the induction elbow and hose assembly away from the throttle body (3).
- Disconnect the hoses from the auxiliary air valve.
- Disconnect the block connector of the throttle potentiometer.
- Disconnect the pressure regulator return hose. Fit blanking plugs to the open ends of the hose and the regulator.
- Disconnect the fuel feed hose union nut and three retaining clips from the fuel rail. Fit blanking plugs to the hose and fuel rail union.

Throttle Cable Bracket:

- Remove the throttle return spring.
- Disconnect the throttle cable. Remove the bolts from the throttle cable bracket and remove the bracket (2).
- Disconnect the hoses from the part throttle orifice control housing and fit blanking plugs to the hoses.
- Disconnect the air conditioning vacuum hose from the manifold.
- Disconnect the air temperature sensor and injector block connectors.
- Disconnect the idle adjustment stepper motor connector.
- Disconnect the breather hose from the cam cover.
- Disconnect the hoses from the induction elbow and orifice control housing.
- Remove the bolt from the oil filler tube and remove the tube from the lower housing.
- Remove the bolt (4) which secures the dipstick tube.
- Disconnect the re-usable harness straps from the support brackets at the upper front and rear of the manifold (3).
- Remove the manifold nuts, bolts and washers (1).
- Remove the harness support brackets from the manifold studs.
- Remove the filler tube bracket.
- Remove the earth leads from the front retaining stud of the manifold.
- Remove the manifold assembly, while at the same time carefully displacing the harnessess through the spaces in the manifold.
- Remove and discard the manifold gasket and the oil filler tube seal.

Cleaning and Inspection
- Clean the manifold and cylinder head mating faces.
- Inspect all mating faces and bolt holes for cracks.
