Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Observe all fire hazard precautions detailed in Fuel Systems / Service Precautions, when working on open fuel systems.
Fuel system MUST be depressurized before disconnecting any fueling component.

- Depressurize fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
- Remove fuel rail assembly.
- Place the fuel rail on a work bench.
- Remove the FI retaining clips and withdraw each FI from the fuel rail.
- Clean the fuel rail apertures and remove the FI protective caps.
- Insert the new FI's into the fuel rail apertures and fit the FI retaining clips. Be sure that the special FI clips locate the FI correctly, with the electrical connector at right angle to the fuel rail.

Note: The injector retaining clip must be located in the semi-circular grooves and not in circular groove above.

- Fit the fuel rail assembly to the induction manifold ensuring that the FI are fully seated.
- Reverse steps to refit.
- Check for fuel leaks.
