Main Return Pipe to Tank
- Depressurize the fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
- Disconnect the battery earth lead.
- Empty the fuel tank into an explosion proof container using suitable fireproof equipment.
- Raise the vehicle on a 'four post' ramp.
- Place suitable container below hose to collect residual fuel.
- Disconnect hose from pipe by releasing quick-fit connection.
- Remove container from beneath hose.
- Fit plugs to pipe and hose.
Fuel Hose Clips:
- Displace and remove hose to tank securing clips (3).
- Disconnect hose from tank.
- Fit plugs to hose and tank.
- Displace and remove hose from suspension area. Remove and discard the O-ring seals from hose.
Fuel Return Hose To Tank:
- Reposition new hose assembly through suspension and reposition connections.
- Remove plugs from hose and return pipe.
- Fit new O-ring seals to hose.
Note: A new O-ring seal must be fitted every ti me the fuel return pipe to tank hose is removed.
- Re-connect quick-fit hose connection to return pipe.
CAUTION: Pipes and component stubs must be fully inserted into connector ends to ensure proper fit; failure to do so could cause fuel leakage.
Note: There are two sizes of connectors; 8mm and 10mm. This is to ensure that the feed pipe is not connected as the return pipe and vice versa. The 10mm connector is used for the feed line.
- Remove plugs from hose and tank.
- Connect hose to tank.
- Secure hose to tank with retaining clip.
- Lower vehicle on ramp.
- Refill tank with fuel.
- Reconnect battery.
