Neutral Safety Switch: Description and Operation

Purpose and Operation
A rotary switch is located on the left hand side of the gearbox, this switch monitors gear select shaft position. A decoder module located on the gear selector gate outputs a signal to the PCME when drive or reverse are engaged from 'N' or 'P'.
