Component Tests and General Diagnostics

On vehicles which have experienced an SRS deployment, certain components must be replaced.
All system components including the steering wheel, steering column, instrument panel and knee bolsters should be inspected for dents, cracks, exposure to excessive heat and other damage and replaced as necessary. When repairing the vehicle, the SRS must be disarmed as described under "Air Bag System Disarming & Arming." Also, when performing service procedures, do not expose SRS components or wiring to heat guns, welding or spray guns.
