Steering Wheel: Service and Repair
1. Center front wheels and lock steering wheel by removing ignition key.2. On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag as described under ``Airbag System Disarming.''
3. On models less airbag, remove pad from center of steering wheel.
4. On all models, slightly loosen the nut securing steering wheel to shaft.
5. Pull steering wheel to release from shaft. Remove securing nut and steering wheel.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque steering wheel securing nut to 26-33 ft. lbs.
b. On models with airbag, reverse disarming procedure to arm airbag.
