ISSUE:
The Jaguar 19000 Code Alarm system "Warn Away" sounds intermittently or sounds as the antenna retracts.
ACTION:
The alarm shock detector sensitivity needs to be adjusted to a less sensitive setting using the following procedure:
NOTE:
If the complaint is associated with antenna retraction, clean the mast with cleaning pad JLM 9830.
^ Open the trunk and remove the right-hand side trunk trim, which covers the tail light bulb cluster.
^ Locate the alarm shock detector sensor mounted at the bottom of the tail light cluster.
^ Using a flat blade screwdriver, adjust the sensor counterclockwise (Fig. 1) in small increments to a less sensitive setting.
NOTE:
Do not completely desensitize the sensor.
^ Verify adjustment by striking the back or side of the rear bumper with a rubber mallet. With moderate impact, the "Warn Away" sound should be heard.
