Front Hub and Bearing Replace
1. Loosen front wheel lug nuts 1/4 turn each. Raise and support front of vehicle.2. Remove one wheel nut, mark wheel relative to stud, then remove remaining wheel nuts and the wheel.
3. Disconnect anti-squeal spring, then disconnect the brake pad sensor connector.
4. Remove caliper securing bolts and suspend caliper with wire. Do not allow caliper to hang from brake hose.
5. Ensure caliper piston is fully retracted and remove brake pads.
6. Cut and remove carrier securing bolt lockwire. Loosen securing bolts and remove carrier.
7. Loosen securing screw and remove brake rotor, then pry off hub grease cap.
8. Remove hub nut split pin and cover. Remove hub nut and "D" washer.
9. Carefully remove hub assembly from stub axle shaft.
10. Remove outer bearing from hub. Remove inner bearing and outer bearing tracks using a suitable punch.
11. Remove inner bearing from stub axle shaft, then using a suitable pry bar, remove and discard hub seal.
12. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Pack hub bearings and coat stub axle shaft with grease.
b. Lubricate new hub seal and ensure grease is applied to all seal lips.
c. Install new hub seal using installation tool No. JD 179, or equivalent.
d. Check and adjust wheel bearing play as described under "Wheel Bearings, Adjust.
e. Tighten to specifications.
