Hub Carrier Assembly, Rear

1. Remove rear wheel, then loosen but do not remove driveshaft securing nut.
2. Remove clip securing parking brake cable to expander.
3. Cut and remove caliper securing bolts locking wire.
4. Cut and remove clips securing brake pad harness to hub.
5. Remove caliper securing bolts. Reposition caliper from brake rotor and secure clear of hub.
6. Reposition rotor access hole to parking brake adjuster and release.
7. Remove brake rotor securing screw, then the brake rotor.
8. Remove fulcrum shaft securing nut.
9. Remove driveshaft to hub securing nut, then the cone.
10. Install a protective cover over driveshaft threads. Install hub removal tool No. JD-1D, or equivalent, to hub.
11. Carefully tighten center tool bolt to withdraw hub from driveshaft.
12. Remove tool, then remove fulcrum shaft and the hub assembly.
13. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate bearings with Shell Retinax "A" or equivalent.
b. Seat collar to hub assembly using a press and a block of wood.
c. Tighten to specifications.
