Lower Control Arm

1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then remove wheel.
2. Remove coil spring as described under ``Coil Spring, Replace.''
3. Loosen and remove tie rod end to steering arm securing nut. Install ball joint removal tool No. JD 100 or equivalent, to tie rod end.
4. Tighten tool bolt to break taper. Unscrew tool bolt and place tool aside.
5. Loosen and remove steering rack to front crossmember securing nuts and bolts. Remove spacer.
6. Loosen and remove anti-roll bar link arm lower securing nut and bolt.
7. Remove upper ball joint securing bolts. Note position of and remove caster shims.
8. Reposition stub axle assembly.
9. Remove split pin securing fulcrum shaft nut, then remove the shaft nut.
10. Remove shock absorber lower mounting bolt and nut. Carefully lower control arm/stub assembly.
11. Remove pivot bolt to allow removal of front control arm assembly.
12. Remove serrated spacer. Move steering rack for clearance, then remove fulcrum bolt.
13. Remove rear control arm/stub axle assembly.
14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten to specifications.
b. Check and adjust front steering wheel alignment following installation.
