Part Return Procedures

MODEL: ALL

DATE: 7/94

ISSUE:

Dealer warranty claims requiring parts return are paid upon submission, provided no other edit conditions exist. Warranty Part Return Edit Slips are printed each day and mailed to all dealers in special envelopes marked "Warranty Part Return Edit Slips Enclosed."

Please allow two to ten days from claim submission to receipt of the return slips.

ACTION:

^ Attach Part Return Edit Slips directly to their appropriate parts.

^ Write the claim and part numbers on a Warranty Packing Slip (W-3) and return to Jaguar using the carrier that delivers the parts stock order.
Claims will be automatically debited if parts are not received by Jaguar within 60 days of the claim date.

^ Each day, the dealership receives a DCS part return status report. This report lists the date the claim will be debited if parts are not received. When the part is received by Jaguar the claim is removed from this report. Dealers using DCS release JG14 have the ability to report the date the part was shipped to Jaguar. This date will appear in the left column of the DCS Daily Part Return Status Report and will assist the dealer in managing outstanding part returns. Refer to the DCS User Guide for instructions.

IF A CLAIM DEBIT DATE IS APPROACHING, PROCEED AS FOLLOWS:

If the dealer still has the part:

^ Immediately return the part with the next warranty part shipment.

^ Write the words "Late Return" in two places.

1. Beside the claim number on the W-3 Packing Slip

2. Near the shipping label on the outside of the box

These parts will be handled with priority, however, the claim may still debit automatically before the package is received. Once the package has been received, the claim will be credited.

NOTE:
A "Late Return" part may be shipped without a Part Return Edit Slip provided the claim number, fault section, part number, and dealer number are clearly indicated on the Warranty Parts Tag (W-9).

If the dealer has sent the part:

^ Fax the original Warranty Packing Slip (W-3) to the Jaguar Warranty Specialist. Clearly identify the claim(s) in question. A Jaguar Warranty Specialist will research the claim and clear it from part return status, or advise if further action is required.
