Oil Pump, Overhaul

- Remove the oil pump.

- Remove the bolts securing the pump body.

- Remove the pump body, pump outer rotor, backplate securing bolts, the backplate and the bearing shell.

- Clean all component parts of the pump.







- Check all the clearance and components for undue wear (Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2). Check tolerances, see Service Data under Engine, Specifications, Mechanical.

- Fit the bearing shell to the housing.

- Apply sealant to the backplate gasket face, fit the backplate and securing bolts. See Service Materials under Engine, Specifications, Fluid Types.

- Fit the outer rotor.

- Lubricate the relief valve assembly and assemble into the pump.

- Tighten the relief valve cap.

- Refit the oil pump.
