Linear Switch


TRANSMISSION LINEAR SWITCH - ADJUST





- Operate the interlock solenoid override latch (2 Fig. 2) (a 'torx' type tool is necessary to remove the plug (4 Fig. 2)) to enable the gearshift to be moved from the 'P' -park position to the 'D' - drive position.

- Remove the centre console veneer finisher panel.

- Slacken the linear switch (2 Fig. 2) securing bolts (1 Fig. 2), and operate the gear selector lever to engage 'N' position.

- Adjust the switch position until the service tool JD 127 can be inserted, and tighten the switch mounting bolts.

- Switch the ignition on, and final check that with the selector lever in the positions 'N' and 'P' the engine will start, but not in any other position and that with 'R' reverse selected, the selector indicator 'R' should be illuminated.

- Engage neutral, and switch oft the engine.

- Refit the centre console veneer finisher panel, and the gear selector surround.

- Refit the performance mode switch and the ashtray.
