Pre-Repair Activities
Isolate engine control module (ECM)
Bumper cover front

Reinforcement-radiator panel

Consumables
Hemlok 813 20
Hemlok 815 16
Hemlok 817 6
Mechanical, Electrical and Trim, remove and install:
Disconnect battery
Air cleaner (1 x 8 mm bolt)
Radiator (6 x 8 mm bolts)
Fuse box-engine bay
Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) Module (RH) (3 x 10 mm bolts)
Windshield washer reservoir (3 x 10 mm bolts)
Hood Striker (4 x 8 mm bolts)
Radiator grille opening cross brace (2 x 17 mm bolts)
Disconnect associated panel wiring
and front crush sensor
Move wiring and pipes to one side
MET Tools
8 mm socket
10 mm socket
3/8" Drive ratchet
Flat blade screwdriver
Panel Tools
6.5 mm Dorma jobber drill Genesis G4
Air drill Scriber
ESN50 Panel clamps
01. The crossmember radiator panel is a category A panel.
Remove MET items as listed.
Remove 22 fixings:
- 11 x fixings RH headlamp panel, ESN fixing tool.
- 11 x fixings LH headlamp panel, ESN fixing tool.
02. Remove 20 fixings, drill out with a 6.5 mm drill bit:
- 7 x fixings on the RH headlamp panel.
- 7 x fixings on the LH headlamp panel.
- 3 x Rear bracket RH.
- 3 x Rear bracket LH.
Remove old panel.
03. Place the new panel in position, and scribe mark the holes.
04. Remove the panel and use a 6.5 mm hole punch or 6.5 mm drill bit to make holes in the new panel.
05. Clamp new panel into correct position.
Secure the new panel with fixings:
- 6 x Hemlok 817 between crossmember radiator panel rear brackets and reinforcement fender panel.
- 12 x Hemlok 815 between crossmember radiator panel and crossmember radiator brackets.
- 4 x Hemlok 815 between crossmember radiator panel and chassis taps.
- 20 x Hemlok 813 for the remaining fixings.
06. On completion of panel replacement, the following checks should be carried out:
1. Panel gaps.
2. Hinge operation.
3. Lock alignment.
4. MET operation.
