System Description
The Renix Throttle Body Fuel Injection System, used on some 1986 and all 1987 models with 4-150 engines, is a single point injection system that injects fuel into the throttle body from an injector located above the throttle plate.
The system is controlled by an electronic control unit(ECU) located under the instrument panel above the accelerator pedal. The ECU receives inputs from various sensors and switches that represent actual engine operating conditions. Based on these inputs, the ECU signals outputs that control the air/fuel mixture, ignition timing, fuel delivery, idle speed, emission controls, up-shift indicator lamp (manual transmission only) and A/C compressor clutch.
