Clutch System Bleed


1. Ensure fluid reservoir is full. If reservoir is not full, replenish with brake fluid.
2. Raise and support vehicle.
3. Remove slave cylinder to clutch housing attaching bolts, then the slave cylinder.
4. Compress slave cylinder plunger using tool J-24420-A or equivalent.
5. Attach one end of suitable hose to slave cylinder bleed screw nipple. Place the other end in a jar filled halfway with clean brake fluid. Ensure end of hose is submerged in brake fluid.
6. Loosen bleeder screw, then have an assistant depress and hold clutch pedal at end of travel.
7. Tighten bleeder screw, then have assistant release clutch pedal.
8. Repeat steps 6 and 7 until fluid entering jar is free of bubbles. While bleeding clutch system, constantly check master cylinder fluid level and replenish as necessary to prevent master cylinder from running out of fluid.
9. Remove tool from slave cylinder, then install slave cylinder.
10. Lower vehicle and check master cylinder level.
