REMOVAL

1. Remove axle hub as outlined previously.
2. Remove splash shield from steering knuckle.
3. If replacing left axle shaft, pull shaft from housing using a suitable puller.
4. If replacing right axle shaft, disconnect vacuum harness from shift motor, then disengage and remove motor from housing shift collar. Pull axle shaft from housing.

INSTALLATION

1. If replacing left axle shaft, install axle shaft into housing, then install splash shield and axle hub.
2. If replacing right axle shaft, install shaft into housing, ensuring shaft is fully engaged over intermediate shaft end and shift collar is properly positioned in housing. Install shift motor so fork engages collar, then torque retaining bolts to 8 ft-lbs. Reconnect vacuum harness to shift motor, then install splash shield and axle hub.
