Trunk/Liftgate Sensor/Switch (For Alarm): Service and Repair

SECURITY SYSTEM LIFTGATE DISARM SWITCH OR PAWL MAGNET
1. Remove two screws at the top outside edges of the liftgate trim panel.

Liftgate Trim Panel Removal:

2. Remove the trim panel with a wide flat blade tool. To aid in removal of the trim panel, start at the bottom of the panel.

Liftgate Disarm Switch:

3. Remove the disarm switch electrical connector from the liftgate and disconnect.
4. Remove the spring steel U-shaped clip holding the lock cylinder in place.
5. Remove the lock cylinder and switch from the liftgate.

Disarm Switch Servicing:

6. Slide the disarm switch out of the lock cylinder.

Release Magnet Lock Clip:

7. To remove the magnet, release the magnet holding clip and push the magnet of the pawl.
