Accelerator Pump Adjustment
Accelerator Pump Rod Adjustment:
NOTE: The 4 adjusting holes in the throttle shaft overtravel lever are designed to permit accelerator pump stroke adjustment for specific engine and ambient locations. Always verify local emissions regulations, before making this adjustment. For most normal operating conditions, the accelerator pump rod should be in the third hole up of the overtravel lever. In extremely hot ambient climates, the accelerator pump rod may be moved down to the second hole, to shorten pump stroke. In extremely cold ambient climates, the pump rod may be moved up to the fourth hole of the overtravel lever to lengthen pump stroke.
1. Remove the accelerator pump cover and remove the accelerator pump rod adjuster from the overtravel lever. Position the adjuster into the specified hole in the overtravel lever and press into place. Reinstall the accelerator pump cover.
2. Measure the accelerator pump rod stroke from the top of the pump shaft to the tip of the pump cover. Use a small spanner wrench to adjust the pump shaft stroke until the accelerator pump shaft protrudes 4.7 mm (.185 in) out of the pump cover.
