Rear Safety Switch Check

Perform WIPER SWITCH CHECK prior to this test.
1. Remove tailgate carpet, then the access cover.
2. With ignition switch in the On position and tailgate window raised check for 12 volts at terminal A on lockout switch 2-way connector. Support glass while raising window to avoid damage to glass.
3. If voltage is not measured, repair open circuit between rear wiper switch and lockout switch connector.
4. If voltage is measured, check for 12 volts at terminal B, with tailgate window raised.
5. If voltage is not measured, replace lockout switch.
6. If voltage is measured, lower tailgate, then check terminal B again. Zero volts should be measured.
7. If voltage is measured, replace lockout switch.
8. If voltage is not measured and lockout switch is satisfactory, perform WIPER MOTOR CHECK.
