Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Adjust service brakes before adjusting parking brake.
1. Fully apply parking brakes, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Loosen front cable locknut.
3. Tighten front cable adjusting nut approximately 1/2 inch. This will apply necessary force to front cable tensioner.
4. Hold cable adjusting nut in position and tighten cable locknut.
5. Lower vehicle until rear wheels are about 6-8 inches off floor.
6. Release parking brake pedal and verify rear wheels rotate freely without drag.
