SUBJECT: FUEL GAUGE READS LOW
MODELS:
1991 (MJ) COMANCHE (XJ) CHEROKEE (YJ) WRANGLER
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
This procedure involves replacement of the fuel sending unit float with a new float.
1. Remove the sending unit/pump assembly from the tank as described in the appropriate service manual.
NOTE: DO NOT BEND OR DISTORT THE FLOAT ARM WHILE REMOVING THE FLOAT OR INSTALLING THE NEW FLOAT
2. Carefully remove the float from the sending unit.
3. Install the new float, PN 4713025, onto the float arm. It may be necessary to crimp down the float retaining loop in order to properly hold the float in place.
4. Install the sending unit/pump assembly as described in the appropriate service manual.
