Ignition Timing: Adjustments

PROCEDURE
Base Ignition Timing IS NOT Adjustable. Do not attempt to adjust by turning distributor. Ignition timing and spark advance are controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM).

If a timing problem is suspected, SEE Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Procedures Testing and Inspection

NOTE: The distributor must be indexed correctly for proper control of ignition spark and timing. SEE Service And Repair Procedures.
