Instrument Panel Center Support Bracket Replacement



REMOVAL

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, REFER TO AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELTS/AIR BAGS BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel center bezel as described. Instrument Panel Center Bezel Replacement
3. Remove the floor console from the floor pan transmission tunnel. Service and Repair
4. Pull the carpet back from the front of the floor pan transmission tunnel far enough to access the center support bracket mounting nuts.

Center Support Bracket Remove/Install:




5. Remove the two nuts that secure the center support bracket to the studs on the lower instrument panel.
6. Remove the two nuts that secure the center support bracket to the studs on the floor pan transmission tunnel.
7. Remove the center support bracket from the vehicle.
8. Reverse the removal procedures to install. Tighten the mounting nuts to 28 Nm (250 in lb).
