Primary Door Weatherstrip Water Leak At A-Pillar Belt Line

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the primary door seals with an improved seal.

MODELS:

1997 - 2006 (TJ) Wrangler

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

Primary door weatherstrip water leak in the area of the A-Pillar belt line.

DIAGNOSIS:





Inspect the primary door weatherstrip in the area of the A-pillar belt line. If the seal is deformed as shown, perform the Repair Procedure (Fig. 1).

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
The upper portion of the weatherstrip is seated into a channel around the window opening frame. The lower portion of the weatherstrip is attached to the door with push-in fasteners.

1. Peel the weatherstrip from the channel.





2. Remove the push-in fasteners attaching the weatherstrip to the door (Fig. 2).

3. Position the lower part of the new weatherstrip and seat the push-in fasteners fully.

4. Install the weatherstrip in the upper weatherstrip channel seat fully.
