P1899 Park/Neutral Switch Stuck In Park or Gear

SYMPTOM
P-1899 P/N SWITCH STUCK IN PARK OR IN GEAR

WHEN MONITORED
With the transmission in park, neutral, or drive and not in limp-in mode.

SET CONDITION
This code is set if the PCM detects and incorrect park/neutral switch state for a given mode of vehicle operation.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- P/N position switch wiring harness observable defect
- P/N position switch defective
- P/N switch sense circuit open
- P/N switch sense circuit short to ground
- P/N switch stuck
- PCM defective
