SYMPTOM
P1493 AMBIENT/BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO LOW

TEST NOTE
This symptom is diagnosed using the test P1492 AMBIENT/BATTERY TEMPERATURE SENSOR VOLTAGE TOO HIGH

WHEN MONITORED
With the ignition key ON.

SET CONDITION
The PCM senses the voltage from the BTS to be either below 0.5 volts or above 4.9 volts for 3 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor ground circuit open
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor (voltage too high)
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor signal circuit open
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor connector and harness intermittent defect
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor connector and harness observable defect
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor signal circuit shorted to ground
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor signal circuit shorted to sensor ground
- Ambient/Battery temperature sensor signal circuit shorted to voltage
- PCM (Ambient/Battery temperature sensor voltage low)
- PCM (Ambient/Battery temperature sensor voltage too low/voltage too high)
