Left Heated Seat Switch Replacement

REMOVAL

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

2. Using a trim stick or another suitable wide flat-bladed tool, gently pry around the perimeter edges of the heated seat switch bezel to release the snap features that secure the bezel to the center floor console. Disengage the heated seat switches and bezel from the center floor console as a unit.
3. Pull the heated seat switch and bezel unit away from the center floor console far enough to access and disconnect the power seat wire harness connectors from the connector receptacles of the two heated seat switches.
4. Remove the heated seat switch and bezel unit from the center floor console.
5. From the back of the heated seat switch bezel, release the snap features that secure the heated seat switch(es) to the bezel.
6. Remove the heated seat switch(es) from the heated seat switch bezel.

INSTALLATION

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

1. Position the heated seat switch(es) into the switch mounting hole(s) in the heated seat switch bezel.
2. From the face of the heated seat switch bezel, press firmly and evenly around the perimeter edges of the heated seat switch to engage the snap features that secure the switches in the bezel.
3. Position the heated seat switch and bezel unit to the bezel mounting hole in the center floor console.
4. Reconnect the power seat wire harness connectors to the connector receptacles of the two heated seat switches. Be certain to connect the red connector to the left side switch, and the blue connector to the right side switch.
5. Position the heated seat switch and bezel unit into the bezel mounting hole in the center floor console.
6. Press firmly and evenly around the perimeter edges of the heated seat switch bezel to engage the snap features that secure the bezel to the center floor console.
7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
