Hood Latch: Service and Repair

HOOD SAFETY LATCH

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support the hood.

2. Remove the bolt attaching the safety latch to the hood (Fig. 2).
3. Remove the latch from the hood.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the latch on the hood.
2. Install the bolt attaching the safety latch to the hood and tighten to 9 N.m (80 in.lbs.).
3. Remove the support rod and close the hood.
