Tire Pressure Monitor Warning Lamp Illuminates On Non-TPM Equipped Vehicles
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves configuring a replacement Wireless Control Module (WCM) to properly reflect a vehicle that is non-TPM equipped.
MODELS:
2005 (KJ) Liberty
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles that are NOT equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM sales codes are: XGM for the premium TPM system and LAB for the base TPM system).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer or technician, with a vehicle that is NOT equipped with a Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) system, may experience the illumination of the instrument cluster TPM warning light. This condition may be caused when a replacement Wireless Control Module (WCM) is installed and has not been properly configured for a vehicle that is not equipped with TPM.
Software in a new service replacement WCM is configured for TPM as received. If the vehicle is not equipped with a TPM system, the technician will need to disable the TPM feature in the software of the replacement WCM.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a new WCM has been installed in a vehicle and that vehicle is not equipped with a TPM system, then perform the Repair Procedure.
