Brakes and Traction Control: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION - BASE BRAKE SYSTEM

The base brake system consists of the following components:

- Brake pedal
- Power brake booster
- Master cylinder
- Brake tubes and hoses
- Disc brakes (front)
- Disc brakes (rear)
- Parking brake

The hydraulic brake system is diagonally split. That means the left front and right rear brakes are on one hydraulic circuit and the right front and left rear are on the other.

Disc brakes control the braking of both the front and rear wheels.

All vehicles are equipped with antilock brakes (ABS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

The parking brake system consists of a hand-operated lever mounted between the front seats that actuates parking brake cables connecting to the rear brakes.
