SUBJECT:
Sunroof Leaks Water When Parked On A Slope

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves applying felt tape to the sunroof guides.

MODELS:

2006 - 2007 (KJ) Liberty/Cherokee (International Markets)

2006 - 2007 (ND) Dakota

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after May 20, 2006.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

If the vehicle is parked on a slope when it is raining, water may get into the dry channel of the sunroof module causing water to leak down the headliner and into the inside of the vehicle.

DIAGNOSIS:

If the vehicle operator describes the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Open the sunroof glass to full open position.





2. Wipe sunroof guide at the front beam clean with isopropyl alcohol prior to applying the felt tape, (Fig. 1).

3. Apply a piece of 35 mm (1-3/8 in) x 20 mm (3/4 in.) felt tape, p/n 68029176AA, on the guide/front beam of the sunroof module which is accessible when the sunroof glass is in its full open position.

4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the other side.

5. Close the sunroof glass to its fully closed position.
