Power Right Side Mirror Will Not Adjust
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves removing the stabilizers behind the power right side view mirror.
MODELS:
2009 (WK/WH) Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with power mirrors only and sales codes (GUT, GUK or GTS) built before June 29, 2009 (0629XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience the right side view power mirror not adjusting correctly.
DIAGNOSIS:
Operate the right side rear view mirror, If the mirror will not adjust and/or is hesitant perform the repair procedure.
NOTE:
The mirror can be adjusted manually.
PARTS REQUIRED:
SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the mirror glass from the right side rear view mirror assembly using Trim stick C-4755 (Fig. 1).
NOTE:
Insert the trim stick approximately 5 inches behind the mirror between the retaining ring and gently pry back.
NOTE:
The mirror assembly has been removed for demonstration purposes.
2. Remove the stabilizers using pliers pull outboard using a twisting motion (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
If any of the mirror glass mounting surface retainers have been damaged replace the mirror glass.
3. Using a gloved hand re-instal the mirror glass seating into the side view mirror assembly.
