B184F-FLIPPER GLASS CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the wiring information Electrical Diagrams.
- When Monitored:
Continuously
- Set Condition:
When the TIPM senses a high condition on the Flip-UP (Flipper) Glass Relay Output circuit for over 5 seconds, this code will set.
1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs
2. Operate the Flip-Up Glass Switch several times.
3. Cycle the ignition from on to off 3 times.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B184F-FLIPPER GLASS CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. (Z920) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Disconnect the Flip-Up Glass Latch C1 connector.
2. Using a test light connected to 12-volts check the (Z920) Ground circuit in the Flip-Up Glass C1 connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
No
- Repair the (Z920) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Go To 3
3. FLIP-UP GLASS LATCH
1. Connect a 12-volt test light between the (Q81) Flip-Up Glass Relay output and the (Z920) Ground in Flip-Up Glass Latch connector.
2. With the scan tool actuate the Flip-Up Glass.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the Latch is actuated?
Yes
- Replace the Flip-Up Glass Latch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 4
4. (Q81) FLIP-UP GLASS RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT SHORT TO BATTERY
1. Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q81) Flip-Up Glass Relay Output circuit in the Flip-Up Glass Latch C1 connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (Q81) Flip-Up Glass Relay Output circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 5
5. (Q81) FLIP-UP GLASS RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the TIPM C7 connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (Q81) Flip-Up Glass Relay Output circuit between the Flip-Up Glass Latch C1 connector and the TIPM C7 connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
No
- Repair the (Q81) Flip-Up Glass Relay Output circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
