B228A-ECU NOT INITIALIZED

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the wiring information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
At all times.

- Set Condition:
Whenever the module has determined that the open and/or closed soft stop positions are invalid.





1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
2. Start the engine and run for two minutes.
3. Turn the ignition off.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

Does the scan tool display DTC B228A-ECU NOT INITIALIZED?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. CHECK ENGINE DTCs

NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged.

1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any active Engine Battery or Charging System DTCs?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.

No

- Go To 3

3. SUNROOF MOTOR DTCs
1. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any Sunroof Motor related DTCs?

Yes

- Testing and Inspection Perform the appropriate diagnostic.

No

- Go To 4

4. SUNROOF INITIALIZATION
1. Verify the sunroof system is clear of any obstructions.
2. Using the scan tool perform the initialize sunroof standard procedure. Sunroof Module Initialization.
3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
4. Cycle the ignition OFF and then ON.
5. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display DTC B228A-ECU NOT INITIALIZED?

Yes

- Replace the Sunroof Module.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
