Installation
INSTALLATION
1. Lift the axle into vehicle.
2. Install the bolts (1) in the rear axle bracket (1) and tighten to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the bolt (1) and nut in the right axle (2) bracket and tighten to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the oil filter drain tray (1) and vent hose (2) on the differential cover.
5. Install the front axle bracket bolts (2) and nuts on the axle housing. Tighten the front axle bracket bolt (1) and nut in the front crossmember to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the RH axle shaft (1) into the axle, steering knuckle (2), and hub bearing.
7. Install the upper ball joints into the steering knuckles (2) and tighten nuts (1) to specifications.
8. Install both brake calipers. Disc Brake Caliper - Installation.
9. Install the tie rod ends (1) on the steering knuckles (2) and tighten to specifications.
10. Align the shock clevises (1) with the lower control arms and install the clevis brackets. Installation.
11. Install the stabilizer bar links (1) and tighten bolts (2) to specifications.
12. Install the new half shaft (2) hub nuts (1) and tighten to 136 Nm (100 ft. lbs.).
13. Install the propeller shaft with reference marks (1, 2) aligned.
NOTE: Clean propeller shaft bolts and apply Mopar Lock & Seal Adhesive or equivalent to the threads before installation.
14. Install the propeller shaft bolts and tighten to specifications.
15. Install the front wheel and tire assemblies.
16. Fill the differential with gear lubricant.
17. Install the skid plate, if equipped.
